A Vintage Diamond Solitaire Men’s Ring
with Russian Medieval style decorations
circa 1910
The 9K gold ring is centered with an old mine cut diamond (approximately 0.40 ct) in a rubover silver setting.
The diamond is flanked by two finely cast and chased stylized pine cones and scrolling foliage on a matted ground.
The decorations of the ring are done in the Russian Modern style of the 1910s. It is an Art Nouveau interpretation of Russian medieval ornaments.
This ring is likely a private commission and one of a kind.
Men’s rings in Russian Modern style are extremely rare and every ring is unique.
US ring size – 8 3/4 (19,5 mm)

Throughout history, pine cones have symbolized the “pineal gland” or “Third Eye” and by association the esoteric act of awakening it.
This gland is said to lie at the geometric center of the brain, and considered by some as the biological THIRD EYE.
The French philosopher Descartes referred to the pineal gland as “the Seat of the Soul”.
Pine cones appear regularly throughout Masonic decorations symbolizing All-Seeing Eye or the Third Eye.
Below is a Faberge silver and black enamel piece in Russian Modern style made at the same time period as the ring – 1910s.
In its stylized medieval floral design, the piece also incorporates pine cones.
