This large antique gilded silver and shaded cloisonne enamel kovsh was made by one of the best Russian enamelers of the early 1900s – Maria Semyenova.
The kovsh is of a traditional Russian design – a boat shaped bowl with a hook handle. The exterior of the bowl is completely covered with elaborate floral designs on richly colored grounds.
Made in Moscow between 1908 and 1917.
The kovsh is in a pristine condition.

Marked with 84 zolotnik old Russian silver standard (875 silver) and maker’s initials ‘MC’ for Maria Semyenova.
