A Vintage Belle Epoque Ruby and Diamond Cluster Ring
Handcrafted in St. Petersburg between 1908 and 1917
The central diamond is surrounded by eleven channel set calibre cut rubies encircled by a row of sixteen single cut diamonds.
The edge is highlighted with sixteen round rubies. All stones are set in silver over 14K gold.
Diameter – 14 mm (9/16 in.)
US ring size – 7 1/2 (17,5 mm)
The ring comes in a fitted brown leather case of Jan Reimer (jeweler of the Imperial Court) shop in St. Petersburg.
The case is stamped with black double headed tsarist eagle (Imperial warrant) and “Jan Reimer S.P.B Nevsky 31”.
The ring is stamped with several hallmarks: 56 zolotnik standard (14K) / St. Petersburg assay office, maker’s initials,
later Soviet control marks from the 1930s for 583 gold and 916 silver .
