An early Victorian era Italian micromosaic and 18K gold set comprising dangle earrings and a brooch / pendant. The set is designed in Etruscan revival style fashionable in the mid 19th century.
The brooch / pendant features a pair of doves allegorically representing love. The set was made in Vatican workshops and marked with pre-1860 Papal States gold assay mark (the Papal crown and cross keys) for Rome. Marked on back of the brooch / pendant and on ear wires.
Length of the earrings with ear wire 55 mm (2 1/8 in.)
The brooch / pendant measures 41 mm (1 5/8 in.) by 52 mm (2 1/16 in.).
