The necklace is designed in the Garland style, which was fashionable in the early 1900s. It is crafted in silver-topped 18K gold (front – silver, back – gold) and embellished with emeralds, pearls, and rose cut diamonds.

The principal emerald measures 9.23 x 8.44 x 6.77 mm. The emerald has a vivid green color. Its weight is 3.56 cts.

Estimated combined emerald weight is 9.70 carats.

Total length of the pendant is 68 mm (2 3/4 in.)

Total length of the necklace is 38.4 cm (15 in.)

Marked on the clasp with Austro-Hungarian eagle-shaped import mark.

The necklace comes in its original gold-tooled burgundy leather case and with a sales receipt  from the jeweller M. Foner of Swansea (Wales, U.K.), dated February 22, 1946. The necklace was sold at the time for £90 (GBP), when the average annual salary of an industrial worker was £280 GBP, while the average cost of a new house was £1,600.

The necklace is accompanied by the American Gemological Laboratories prestige gemstone report No. 1118591 for the principal emerald. The report states that the emerald is of Colombian origin and has some minor traditional enhancement which is rare.
