Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantine), circa 400 – 600 AD
This restrained Byzantine hollow cross pendant is finely crafted in almost pure gold (approximately 23.11 kt). The cross is formed with thick, round tubular arms, each accented at the terminals with gold pellets. At the center is a cabochon cut garnet, bezel set in gold.
The pendant is preserved in excellent original condition.
