World War I period, Saint Petersburg, circa 1914–1917
This exceptionally rare gilded silver presentation pendant of Grand Duchess Olga (1895–1918), the eldest daughter of Tsar Nicholas II, is designed as an elegant cipher “O” suspended beneath the Russian Imperial crown. Its restrained aesthetic reflects the sober character of wartime jewelry.
The pendant was presented by Olga as a token of appreciation and gratitude.
It is marked on both suspension rings with the workmaster’s initials “КП” for Konstantin Prokofiev, who worked for the firm of Kortmann in St. Petersburg.
A beautiful and highly important piece of Romanov memorabilia, intimately connected to the family of the last Tsar.
Length without the rings is 29 mm (1 1/8 in.)
Sold without the signed photograph
