An antique Russian glass decanter from an everyday service of Tsar Nicholas II, 1896-1917.
Such glass decanters were mass produced for Imperial palaces throughout the reign of Nicholas II but very few have survived to these days, especially with original stoppers.
Height 13 1/2 in. (34,5 cm)
The decanter is acid etched with Tsar Nicholas II cipher – H II, beneath Russian Imperial crown.
A similar glass decanter but with engraved cipher, was sold from this site in 2006. That decanter had an inventory number 976. The current decanter also has a scratched number (70) under the base.
