An Antique Faberge Picture Frame for Sale
Silver-gilt and translucent gray guilloche enamel miniature picture / photo frame, made in St. Petersburg between 1908 and 1917 by Karl Faberge’s workmaster Andrei Gorianov (Gurjanov).
Condition: intact original enamel, overall excellent.
Height 2 3/4 in. (7 cm). Width 4 1/4 in. (10,7 cm).
Andrei Gerasimovich Gorianov (Gurjanov)* took over Wilhelm Reimer’s workshop at Morskaia St. 11/6 upon Reimer’s death in 1898. He worked independently and supplied Faberge primarily with small enameled picture frames and jewelry.
* in Russian reference literature the last name of the master is spelled: Gurjanov.
The enameled body is applied with chased scrolling foliage and a garland.
The silver-gilt garland is set with seed pearls.
Marked with master’s initials ‘ A.Г. ‘ and Imperial Russian 88 zolotniks standard (916 silver).
