Moscow, 1866
This impressive Russian antique ring is crafted in 23K gold (95.55% pure). It features an old mine cabochon-cut pink sapphire of notable size and soft, glowing luster. The sapphire is set in a fine bezel, allowing the gemstone’s natural dome to be fully appreciated.
The ring’s shoulders are designed with bold ribbed detailing, adding visual weight and enhancing the silhouette of the gemstone. The deep color of the high-karat gold contrasts beautifully with the rosy hue of the sapphire.
It is a rare example of high-karat antique goldwork paired with the large old mine sapphire – a wearable jewel and a collectible piece.
The sapphire measures 18.9 x 12.3 x 6.50 mm and is approximately 16.32 carats.
The ring is accompanied by the American Gemological Laboratories (AGL) Prestige Gemstone Report No. 1148605.
