made in Rome, circa 1870, by one of the greatest Italian jewelers of the 19th century – Ernesto Pierret (1824-1898). His business was located at 20 Piazza di Spagna in Rome in a historically important palazzo which today bears his name.

This 18K gold three dimensional cross is superbly designed and handcrafted in the Medieval Revival style with both Gothic and Renaissance elements. The cross is embellished with sapphires, rubies, rose cut diamonds, and pearls.

Estimated total sapphire weight is 3.62 ct.

The cross has a detachable pin, a folding bail, and a pin guard, and can be worn as a pendant or brooch. It is signed on the back ‘PIERRET’.
