A Highly Unusual Egg by Peter Carl Faberge Moscow, circa 1890 This very elaborate multi-color guilloche enamel jeweled egg was made by the Faberge’s Moscow branch.
The egg is set with rose cut diamonds and various-cut emeralds, rubies, and sapphires.
Condition: minor enamel restoration
Height without suspension ring 17 mm (5/8 in.)
The egg comes in a fitted brown leather egg case of the period.
The smaller ring is marked with 56 zolotnik gold standard (14K) and ‘K’ (above image) – a part of ‘ ?? ‘ mark.
The suspension ring is marked with Faberge’s initials – КФ (Karl Faberge) and Moscow assay stamp
