The 14K yellow gold ring is centered with a rectangular shape mixed cut Russian demantoid of a very rare alpine green color. The demantoid is flanked by four chunky old mine cut diamonds.

The demantoid measures 6.53 x 4.80 x 3.70 mm and is approximately 1.13 ct.

Estimated total diamond weight is 1.05 ct.  The two bigger diamonds are approximately 0.44 ct and 0.49 ct.

All stones are antique, circa 19th century. The gold setting is mid to late 20th century.

Russian alpine green demantoids are only occasionally found in antique jewelry. This is the third time we have ever seen a demantoid of this color. Apparently, the mine which produced such demantoids was exhausted a long time ago.
