Attributed to Faberge, made in St. Petersburg between 1908 and 1917.
The egg is covered with a superb translucent guilloche enamel of a glowing golden yellow color.
The color is similar to the color of the Coronation egg by Faberge. The Coronation egg was given by Tsar Nicholas II to his wife Empress Alexandra in 1897. It was formally in the Forbes collection and is now housed at the Faberge Museum in Saint Petersburg.
Marked on the gold suspension ring with 56 zolotnik old Russian gold standard and maker’s initials. The initials are struck off the ring. It is possible that they are Cyrillic letters ‘Я А’ for Faberge’s workmaster Hjalmar Armfelt.
This golden color is very rare. We had no eggs of that color before.
The enamel is in impeccable condition.
Height without suspension ring is 16 mm (5/8 in.)
