A Vintage Sapphire and Diamond Engagement Ring
Russian, circa 1910
The ring is handcrafted in 14K rose gold.
The center stone is a natural midnight blue sapphire ( 7.5 x 5.1 x 3.05 mm, approximately 1.34 ct) set in a gold millegrain collet setting,
encircled by 12 old European cut diamonds set in silver over rose gold.
The estimated total diamond weight is 1.32 ct. Average color H, clarity VS2-SI2.
The oval shaped sapphire and diamond cluster is flanked by split tri-part shoulders.

US ring size 7 3/4 (17 mm)
The ring comes in a fine red leather case of the period.
A finely crafted ring of a solid construction.
The ring is marked with maker’s initials and later Soviet control hallmarks (St. Petersburg) from the 1930s for 583 gold (14K) and 875 silver.
