circa 1910
The ring is set with an exceptionally eye clean 1.42 ct Russian demantoid surrounded by ten old European cut diamonds (approximately 1.20 ct total diamond weight).
The great sparkle of this demantoid is due to its extraordinary clarity.
There are some very fine horsetail inclusions (see image below), just enough to confirm the demantoid’s Ural Mountains origin. The horsetails are not detectable with a 10x magnifier.
The stones are set in silver over yellow gold. Platinum shank.
Comes in a brown leather box of the period.
